About Tone & Tap

Our Mission

To bring together like-minded people who enjoy working out in a non-intimidating environment, socializing, and living a life of balance — all while supporting local breweries.

How it started

Brewery-run fitness clubs and yoga classes have become prevalent amid the Charlotte beer scene, but trainer Hannah Letts noticed there was a lack of brewery classes for boot camp enthusiasts. She started Tone & Tap at Town Brewing in 2018, holding classes twice a month. Since then, we’ve come a long way — because, well, who doesn’t like a cold beer after a tough workout?

How it’s going

With 4-5 classes per week hosted at different Charlotte breweries, we have not only created access to brewery HIIT/Strength classes, but a community of those that love the work hard, play hard combo. In addition to our bootcamp classes, we also have yoga classes once a week. It doesn’t stop there, though. We’re always looking to grow our Tone & Tap community as well as our partnerships! Bottom line: We like to workout, drink beer, and meet new people. Check our schedule and come join us!

Meet Our Trainers

Hannah Letts • Founder/Owner, Head Trainer – Charlotte

Hannah has been a personal trainer since 2014 and a beertender since 2018. After moving to Charlotte and learning how prevalent breweries were — as well as how active the population was — it was only a matter of time before she knew she needed to use her expertise (and two favorite hobbies) by blending the two together.

Hannah’s favorite part about coaching classes is the freedom to be creative in the workouts. She tries to keep everyone on their toes by switching up the format, adding competition, and always trying to bring new exercises to the table. Her favorite part of Tone & Tap is the number of awesome people she’s met that she now calls friends!

Maddie Bertsch • Head Trainer – Nashville

  • B.S. Business – University of Northern Iowa

  • NASM-Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)

Maddie, known for her killer leg day workouts, is heading our Nashville expansion! Find her at Hi Wire Nash once a month. Maddie was an impressive D1 golfer and is now using her love for athletics and fitness by motivating others to crush their workouts and bring out their inner athlete. She loves fitness because of its positive impact on both physical and mental health. Maddie wanted to be a part of the trainer team after attending her first class, because, you guessed it, she ALSO loves working out and brewery hopping in her free time.
